The
devil hates Holy Water because of its power over him. He cannot
long abide in a place or near a person that is often sprinkled
with blessed water.
A
train hits a bus load of nuns and they all perish. They are
all in heaven trying to enter the pearly gates past St.
Peter.
He
asks the first nun, "Sister Lorelei, have you ever had
any contact with a penis?"
The nun giggles and slyly replies, "Well once I touched the
head of one with the tip of my finger."
St. Peter says, "OK, dip the tip of your finger in the holy
water and pass through the gate."
St. Peter asks the next nun the same question, "Sister Elizabeth,
have you ever had any contact with a penis?"
The
nun is a little reluctant but replies, "Well once I fondled
and stroked one."
St. Peter says, "OK, dip your whole hand in the holy water
and pass through the gate."
All of a sudden there is a lot of commotion in the line of
nuns. One nun is pushing her way up the line. When she reaches
the
front of the line St. Peter says, "Sister, Sister what seems to
be the rush? There is plenty of holy water; you will all be purified
and enter Heaven."
The nun replies, "Maybe so, but if I'm going to have to gargle
that holy water, I want to go before Sister Mary sticks her ass
in it!"
Holy
Water is a sacramental that remits venial sin. Because of the
blessing
attached to it, Holy Mother Church strongly urges its use
upon Her children, especially when dangers threaten, such as
fire,
storms, sickness, discord and other calamities. Every Catholic
home should always have a supply of Holy Water. Did we realize
now, as
we shall after death, the many benefits which may be derived
from Holy Water, we would use it far more frequently, and with
greater
faith and reverence.
There were three boys that went into confession to
tell
their bad deeds.
The
first one entered and said, "Father,
please forgive me
for I have cursed at my parents."
And
the priest replied, "Say 3 Hail
Mary and drink of the
Holy Water."
The
next boy entered, and said, "Father,
please forgive me
for I cheated on my math test yesterday."
And
the priest replied, "Say 6 Hail
Mary and drink of the
Holy Water."
The
last little boy entered and said, "Father,
please
forgive me for I have peed in the Holy water."
Holy
Water, sprinkled with faith and piety, can move the Sacred Heart
of Jesus to bless your loved ones, present or absent, and protect
them from all harm of soul and body. When worry and fear take
possession
of you, give your dear ones the benefit of the Churchs prayer.
Only in Purgatory can one understand how ardently a poor soul longs
for Holy Water. If we desire to make a host of intercessors for
ourselves, let us never forget them at the Holy Water font. The
holy souls nearest to Heaven may need the sprinkling of only one
drop to release them.
